... is a collective of some of the most talented musicians in the San Francisco Bay area. The collective is a pool of constantly revolving talented musicians, artists, dancers and visionaries to bring a sound imprint of the Bay Area at the moment. The neyBuzz family firmly believes in the power of sound to transmit information and engage the mind to nurture the human spirit. We assemble our alternative sound through our shared spirit, history, experiences and laughter. And the unifying result can be labeled everything from Dub, Soul, funk, Indie to feral Rock.

×

...richly textured vocalist, has been much in demand by just about every label and bands in the Bay Area and California. 80 bug's creativity has taken her from fronting heavy metal bands, to pushing the envelope with hard rock bands, and being the emcee of full on hip hop jams in underground clubs.

×

... a fellow conscious resistor, has developed a unique set of percussive skill. He has been a veteran of the Reggae Bay area music scene and continues to play an important part in it.

×

... a true visionary and multitalented artist. He has the future in the palm of his hands but he doesn't know it. Art, music - he'll put his imprint in it. What emerge are traces of humanity at its best and visions of the future of music culture.

×

... is really the star attraction of the collective; He ditched modeling for the music. Gotta love that decision. He says that drumming has been his life since infancy. Among the more obvious groups he's worked with are Undercover Ska and the legendary Skatalites.

×

... might as well be called the zoo keeper around here. He keeps us motivated and on point musically and psychically. But most of all his bass playing establishes a sense of balance needed during our jam sessions.

×

... was the co-founder of BPM Records which became the epicenter of dance culture in the Bay Area. He created the seminal radio show Dreadlock Soldier Hour which became a must listen for dub/dancehall devotees. He also put together various collectives to reflect the musical landscape and thought processes of the Bay Area, among them: Dub Addxx Band, TrueFunkeosis, The BudWrestlers. He does not have a cat.

×

... quiet, resolute and does deep analytical studies of Reggae drumming. He is the first ninja drummer. He comes in the studio. Lights it up and Blam! We have to collect our collective jaws off the floor while he's already touring with some of the biggest acts in Reggae.

×

... hidden geniuses among us. Unkle Mike and Bumpa Travis are two tremendously gifted musicians who've encompassed all genre of music to form new musical expressions. Their ground breaking combination of sound has led us to territories we were only marginally aware of. All substance, no filler; their treatments of our sound have led to milestones in our musical development.

×

... the whirling dervish in the recording studio, twisting knobs and positioning microphones and snaking cables. To top it all, he spreads magic dust with the aura of his superior guitar and bass playing.

×

... was the founder of one of the most important Bay area reggae band: Lambsbread. An accomplished musician, he has been sharpening his tools backing the biggest stars in Reggae music and studio works.

×

... is a vocalist who can by turn master the hues of Wonder and Mayfield, has also developed a voice of his own. In truth, he is the teacher/ artist of the band; He is a painter, poet and art school teacher.

×

... doesn't mess around. A veteran of the San Francisco music scene, he's seen it all. By now, he's the resident expert in Afro Cuban, Salsa rhythms. In his elements, he heads the premier Afro Cuban Jazz combo called Jazz Sabor.

×

"Lester had a sound and an approach like Louis Armstrong, only he had it on tenor sax. Billie Holiday had that same sound and style; so did Budd Johnson and that white dude, Bud Freeman. They all had that running style of playing and singing. That is the style I like, when it is running. It floods the tone. It has a softness in the approach and concept, and places emphasis on one note."

×

"As it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end... One Love, One Heart..."

×

"Again, Mahamati, what is meant by non-duality? It means that light and shade, long and short, black and white, are relative terms, Mahamati, and not independent of each other; as Nirvana and Samsara are all things are not-two. There is no Nirvana except where is Samsara; there is no Samsara except where is Nirvana; for the condition of existence is not of a mutually exclusive character. Therefore it is said that all things are non-dual as are Nirvana and Samsara."

×

"Constantly regard the universe as one living being, having one substance and one soul; and observe how all things have reference to one perception, the perception of this one living being; and how all things act with one movement; and how all things are the cooperating causes of all things which exist; observe too the continuous spinning of the thread and the contexture of the web"

×

"Times like these, we should live as one"

×

"All things are implicated with one another, and the bond is holy; and there is hardly anything unconnected with any other things. For things have been co- ordinated, and they combine to make up the same universe. For there is one universe made up of all things, and one god who pervades all things, and one substance, and one law, and one reason."

×

"The Koran compels the Muslim world to take a stand on the side of those whose human rights are being violated, no matter what the religious persuasion of the victims is. Islam is a religion which concerns itself with the human rights of all mankind, despite race, color, or creed. It recognizes all (everyone) as part of one human family."

×

"I am he as you are he as you are me as we are all together..."

×

"To save a life it must be destroyed.
When utterly destroyed, one dwells for the first time in peace.
One word settles heaven and earth;
One sword levels the whole world."

×

"One day I wiped out all the notions from my mind. I gave up all desire. I discarded all the words with which I thought and stayed in quietude. I felt a little queer-as if I were being carried into something, or as if I were touching some power unknown to me and Ztt! I entered. I lost the boundary of my physical body. I had my skin, of course, but I felt I was standing in the center of the cosmos. I spoke, but my words had lost their meaning. I saw people coming towards me, but all were the same man. All were myself! I had never known this world. I had believed that I was created, but now I must change my opinion: I was never created; I was the cosmos; no individual Mr. Sasaki existed."

×

"I and I don it league with wrong
I and I and I speak about right
Oh, I and I would have to hail HIM"

×

"On the One"

×

"the oneness of all life is a truth that can be fully realized only when false notions of a seperate self, whose destiny can be considered apart from the whole, are forever annihilated."
